J: My name is Jannis Narimatsu. I had Mr. P. sophomore year, I was second period, on the blue team. I am currently a senior.
I: What events took place during your year in P-Ville?
J: We had a coup d'etat, Bryson (sp?) yeah I think it was Bryson, uh, we had a coup d'etat once and the weird part was he actually did a coup d'etat and pretty much left the school, like, one week later. So there was like no point in that.
I: Well yeah there is a point, you just do it because you're going to leave!
J: Um... We almost had a stock market crash; we got super close, we got, like, .5.
I: What, like your stock?
J: Yeah, like our stock was at .5. So we got really close to a stock market crash but somehow pulled through. I don't really know how, can't remember. Um... A lot of people in our period had, like, a bajillion stock market points and none of us were sure how, but all of us weren't really happy with it. We kind of went to war with Period 6 and to be honest I kind of assisted the war, not in favor of period 2, I assisted the war in favor of Period 6.
I: So what, why did you guys go to war with Period 6?
J: I think it was a point thing. I know people in Period 6 and my Period 2 were... I think we had a lot more points than... I'm trying to remember though cuz I can't...
I: Wait, did you guys declare war or did Period 6?
J: Period 6. I'm trying to remember what happened though cuz as I said I have kind of like, bad memory... Um... I remember I helped with Period 6 for some reason cuz I know Period 2, they weren't really helping, so I'm like "Eh! Better I get with them." I kind of passed notes, not really passed notes but like, passed notes between periods...
I: So you were a spy?
J: Pretty much, I guess double teamer...
I: Oh...
J: I would tell them what happened in Period 2 and then... I wouldn't get points for it though... I just did it for the fun of it, like some "" I am.
I: I see... How was the war issue resolved between the two periods?
J: It just kinda died down, to be honest. Like at first, it was like a rivalry thing and then it just kinda like went "pff." And we were like, "Okay, well that was boring." And, a lot of times when we went to the meetings too, they would... Whenever there were debates about-wait I'm getting off topic, I'm sorry. Yeah, to finish at a lot of meetings, a lot of times we're in the room you can just like tell, there's tension.
I: Hm. So there was never any specific resolution like, a win or anything?
J: There probably was but...
I: You just don't know?
J: I just don't know, to be honest, cuz I was... I just passed notes I mean... I didn't really- I was in favor of Period 6 for the fact that I think people were on to me so I just kind of stopped and was like, yeah, I'm gonna go hide in the corner now, and pretty much did nothing for the rest of the time.
I: Um... So what is your opinion on the current war between Period 3 and Period 6? Like, how do you think it's going to end?
J: Who's winning?
I: Uh...Well...
(Off-recording I briefly explained what was happening with the limited information I have from being in Period 5.)
J: It depends how much stock they have. If Period 6 has like a crap ton of stocks then yeah Period 3 go for them but if Period 3 has like all the stocks and they're just being some greedy "" then, I don't really see the whole point of it, you have pretty much the majority of the points and depending how the stock market is, it can actually crash at any point.
(Seems she ignored the part where I explained stocks... -_-)
I: Hm. Okay, so, how do you think this is, like, affecting the legacy of P-Ville?
J: Probably, to be honest with you, it will probably not leave that much of a mark. I mean, a lot of events happen in P-Ville. You get some significant people, like (couldn't understand what she said...), look around the classroom if you don't believe me... If you don't, then I really question what you're doing in this class. But, other than that, just make sure, like, compared to other classes, like read the other class histories and see if you really have an impact in them and I don't really see it. Just make... But, just a little tip, make sure to record history and everything, record everything that happens each day... and my voice is cracking... Just record everything that happens every day in history and when there's a war record every single event, cuz you never know when something might be used against you and also do not write stuff down, type it up, show an official document, and be like "Here! Here's the damn thing, do not manipulate my words." Also, yeah, you record each meeting too, just in case, you never know what you might pick up.
I: Okay so Period 2 is currently siding with Period 6, what are your thoughts on that?
J:It's like complete irony, in my opinion, to what happened our year. Period 2... I don't know, Period 2 do you really have to side with Period 6? I mean is that really your war? You can just, actually never mind...
I: They're siding for peace.
J: Okay so they're siding for peace, that's a different story. So you're pretty much just siding for peace even though you've nothing to completely do with this thing, you're just siding with them because "Hey! Peace time!" and then I bet you... I bet you Period 2 is just gonna stab them in the back. I bet you... I bet you now, it's gonna be like World War II., where Stalin and Hitler team up and they're like "Hey, we're totally gonna do this war together, we're gonna help each other out and like nope nope not gonna happen. Nope, 'course not.
I: I see, so that's your prediction?
J: That's my prediction. Don't trust anyone. Don't make alliances.
I: Speaking of that actually, Period 5 was about to make an alliance with Period 3, because my period, Period 5, wanted to take over Period 3 if they were to break a peace treaty that we had written, but the treaty wasn't ratified, so we didn't side with them and now we're actually glad about that. Uh, the real question is why do you think Period 3 seems so war hungry?
(Didn't give a very good explanation there, but I think I had already told her in the explanation...)
J: I think... it depends... on how everyone else is doing. I mean, how are they're stocks compared to...
I: They were catching up to Period 6. They were halfway there, but higher than all the other periods.
J: Really?
I: Yes.
J: I think it's just starting to become a greed thing because when you have all the stocks, you pretty much have all the points. So, in a way, you can kinda feel like, "Oh, hey, I have all this power. Look what I can do to all of you. You can just come to me..." I'm getting off topic again. "You can just come to me for all these points because I have all these points to give out." Like, kind of, like bread in circuses, we have all this entertainment to give you, in exchange though, you give support for us. And, the other periods are like, "Wait, that's not right" because, we're in P-Ville, we're gonna see that bread in circuses did not work, even for the Romans. And so as a result, they're kind of resisting against it, and, Period 3, deciding to be omniscient leaders do not like this and decide to pretty much try to crush all the other periods, cuz they want to be king, although only on person can be king but, let's not talk about that.
I: Hm. Actually, let's talk about that.
J: Okay...
I: Do you think it would be better if there was one DOD that ruled over all the periods as opposed to DODs in every single period?
J: We kind of learned already from totalitarian government that that's not possible, I mean, look at Stalin, look what he did, look at Mao, look what he did, look at Hitler, look what he did. And, as we know, none of that really works, you're gotta have one DOD working as one person. You have to have at least 6 DODs contributing to each other their opinions.
I: So are you trying to say the DOD of Period 3 is kind of following in the future of um... past leaders, like from history?
J: Yeah, cuz when you have 6 DODs, it's like nations, you have 6 leaders you can talk to. But then if you only have one leader, that's pretty much one leader ruling all the world. You don't have anyone to talk to, and you're pretty much controlling every little thing. And if people do not agree with you, they can pretty much overthrow you and replace you with someone else. Then again, this just repeats itself because hey, you have another person who's ruling everything.
I: Hm. So as a wise elder, is there any message that you want to relay to the current P-Villians?
J: Uh... Just, keep an eye on your stocks, don't let it drop down to .5 or you will be very worried like us. Do the P-Olympics, although don't expect to beat the Elders, no one's gonna beat the Elders, I'm sorry, we're the best.
I: Oh really?
J: And, when you go to war, make sure you know what you're doing, do not go into war with "Hey! Let's just go to war for the hell of it!" Make sure you know what you're doing, make sure you kind of know what to do, and kind of have it planned out. Like, let's just say, just kind of have a general idea of what you think they're going to do and if they do something completely opposite, make sure you have a backup plan just in case for that. Um. Get as much support as you can, but top be honest, I don't recommend for the other periods to join in on this war, leave it to yourself, keep out of it, otherwise, who knows you might end up losing all your points. And yeah, and you may have one DOD ruling over everyone. Good luck with that.
I: Alright then...
-END OF RECORDING_
Disclaimer: The opinions presented by the Elder Jannis Narimatsu do not necessarily reflect the opinions of this reporter. If you would like a copy of this recording, email me and I will send it to you. I have held nothing back, everything that was said on the recording has been typed up here.
NOTE: I have recently found out that this elder was a bit confused. The war was between Periods 2 and 4, not 2 and 6. Also, the war was resolved diplomatically. I have no info on this at the moment, but hopefully in the near future I will be be able to write a post about it.
